Lance Wright

Chief Information Security Officer at Bazaarvoice

Lance Wright has a strong background in information security, with a focus on leadership roles. Lance is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Bazaarvoice, a position they have held since November 2020. Prior to this, Lance held the same role at Volusion from November 2019 to November 2020. Before joining Volusion, Lance was the Director of Information Security at Planview, Inc. from October 2018 to November 2019. Lance also served as the Director of Information Security and Compliance at Volusion from October 2012 to October 2018. Lance's career in information security began at Grand Canyon University, where they worked as an Information Security Architect from November 2009 to October 2012. Prior to that, they held the position of Manager of IT Security and Privacy at Protiviti from January 2006 to November 2009. Lance also has experience outside of the information security field, having worked at Qwest Communications as a Technology Support Manager from August 2002 to August 2005, and as a Home Office/Small Office Consultant from April 2000 to August 2002. Lance's career started in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as a Squad Leader and was a member of the Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team during Desert Shield/Storm from November 1988 to November 1992.

Lance Wright completed their education at various institutions. Lance obtained a Bachelors of Science (Honors) degree in Computer Information Systems from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, where they attended from 2001 to 2005. Later, they pursued a Masters degree in Business Administration with a focus on Leadership from Grand Canyon University, studying there from 2010 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Lance also obtained several certifications. In 2005, they received the CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications. In 2004, they obtained the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certification. Furthermore, Lance acquired the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA in 2006, followed by the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2 in the same year. Lance also earned the Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) certification from the PCI Security Standards Council in 2007 and the Internal Security Assessor (ISA) certification from the same institution in 2010.
