Onur Genç

Onur Genc is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the banking and consulting industries. Serving as the Group CEO of BBVA since January 2019, Onur also held the position of President & CEO at BBVA Compass from January 2017 to January 2019. Prior to that, Onur was the Deputy CEO of Garanti BBVA, where responsibilities included executive leadership in retail banking and oversight of Garanti Payment Systems. Onur’s career began at McKinsey & Company, where a role as Director-Senior Partner and Country Manager lasted from January 1999 to March 2012, following an earlier position as a Senior Financial Analyst at American Airlines from June 1997 to December 1998. Academically, Onur Genc holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University.
