Dr. Sara Dubois serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at BC SPCA since May 2004, where responsibilities include promoting ethical and evidence-based practices in animal welfare, public policy, and advocacy. Dr. Dubois manages provincial wildlife welfare issues and oversees Wild ARC, BC's second-largest wildlife rehabilitation center. In addition to current roles at Vancouver Island University as an instructor and The University of British Columbia as an adjunct professor, Dr. Dubois has previously contributed to Royal Roads University as an instructor and committee member. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MSc in Animal Science, both from The University of British Columbia, and a BSc in Biology from the University of Victoria. Earlier experience includes monitoring animal welfare on film sets during a contract with BC SPCA.
