Shane Goodson has a diverse and extensive work experience. In 2006, they started as the Chief Operations Officer for a Brigade Support Battalion, where they oversaw operations and strategic planning for over 1,100 Soldiers. Later, they served as the Air and Missile Defense Chief for the 101st Airborne Division, advising the Division Commander on AMD operations and coordinating with AMD units. Shane also served as the Joint Force Command Liaison Officer to US Africa Command, representing the Joint Force Commanders' equities during their deployment to Africa. Additionally, Shane worked as the Force Protection Chief for a Combined Joint Task Force in Afghanistan, managing protection technologies and crisis management. In 2015, they transitioned to the U.S. Army as a Transitioning Army Veteran, initially serving as a Project/Program Manager & Training Specialist, and later as the Assistant Program Director for Ground-Based Midcourse Defense, ensuring the synchronized fielding of new capabilities and upgrades. From 2017 to 2021, Shane worked at Mobius as a Senior Analyst, providing support to the Ground-based Midcourse Defense systems. Currently, they hold the position of Operations Support Analyst (Advanced) at BCF Solutions, focusing on supporting the Ballistic Missile Defense System GMD programmatic, technical, and operational efforts. Shane's work experience demonstrates their expertise in program management, staff operations, joint operations, critical thinking, and working in high ops tempo environments.
Shane Goodson's education history includes a Bachelor's of Science degree in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Shane also attended Combined Arms and Services Staff School until 2001 and Army Command and Staff College until 2008.
