Charles Smith

Charles Smith has a long and varied work experience. Charles began their career in 2002 as a Network Administrator for Xcelerator Gaming, where they deployed LANs for local gaming events and managed networks during events. In 2006, they worked as a Developer Co-Op for Savant Systems. From 2008 to 2013, they were the Founder of Marshsmith, Inc, where they and Alexis Marsh created iOS apps and games. In 2010, they became a Lead Server for screwtop wine bar. In 2011, they were a Developer for Phase2, working on large scale Drupal integrations. From 2013 to 2014, they were the Founder of Balcony in Five, Inc. In 2014, they were a Software Developer for Gannett. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Lead Software Engineer at Takl - On Demand Home Services, leading backend Ruby on Rails development for a two sided marketplace app. Finally, from 2018 to the present, they have held various roles at Beachy, including VP of Engineering, Interim Chief Technology Officer, Director Of Engineering, Lead Developer, and Senior Software Developer.

Charles Smith obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology between 2004 and 2009. Charles also obtained a WSET Level 2 certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in September 2013.
