Edel Marcelino

Edel Marcelino is currently a Security Engineer & Developer at Beacon Cloud Solutions. Prior to that, they were a Systems Engineer at Gnostech, Inc from February 2009 to October 2013. There, they were responsible for working on Trusted Mission Planning Systems utilizing skills including, but not limited to, UNIX/Linux scripting, SELinux Policy writing, Apache, Samba, Windows 2003, VMWare, etc. They are very comfortable working and setting up UNIX/Linux Server environments and have setup Cross platform solutions, i.e. Linux to Windows and vice-versa as well as VMWare environments preserving SWaP expectations.

Before Gnostech, Inc., Edel Marcelino worked as a System Administrator at DefenseWeb Technologies Inc from June 2007 to January 2009 where they were responsible for setting up all Domain Workstations, Servers, and supporting hosting uptime. This included setting up Web, File, App, Database, Domain Controllers, and other types of servers as well making sure website uptime meets SLA requirements. Additionally, they hardened security for all production servers and enclave. Their specific duties included creating and managing Microsoft/EMC Auto-start clustering, deploying virtual test server environments using VMware, managing users, workstations, and servers using Active Directory and Group Policy across multiple domains, and setting up server systems for website site, database, and file hosting. DoD Security Hardening of systems using PGD, Retina, Web-Inspect was also part of their job.

Edel Marcelino has a certificate of completion in full stack web development from UC San Diego Extended Studies, a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from San Diego State University, and an associate's degree in transfer studies from Southwestern Community College. Edel also has certifications from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) in CISSP and from CompTIA in Security+.

They work with Larry Galang - Customer Success Manager, Robin St Cyr - Office Administrator, and James Dwight - Project Manager. Their manager is Jason Young, CEO.
