Lauren Young has extensive work experience in the field of genomics and computational biology. Lauren currently holds the position of Senior Director at Beam Therapeutics, where they oversee the Genomics & Computational Biology department. Prior to this, they worked at Gritstone Oncology as a Bioinformatics Scientist II, where they developed pipelines and algorithms for neoantigen prediction. Lauren also worked at Foundation Medicine as a Bioinformatics Scientist, leading data analysis efforts for genomic profiling and circulating-tumor DNA. Lauren has also held positions at GNS Healthcare, the Broad Institute, and Amgen, where they gained experience in reverse engineering biological data, GWAS analyses, and next-generation sequencing assays. Lauren's work experience dates back to 2006 when they started as a Research Technician at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
Lauren Young obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Music from Rochester Institute of Technology between 2003 and 2006. Later, they attended Northeastern University from 2007 to 2010 to earn a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics.
