Maria-Louisa Izamis

Maria-Louisa Izamis has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Maria-Louisa currently serves as the Director of Business Development at Beam Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, Maria-Louisa worked at Philips, where they held multiple positions. From 2018 to 2022, they were the Innovation Program Director, overseeing corporate research strategy and leading a clinical focus team. Maria-Louisa also had the role of Clinical Scientist in the Image Guided Therapy Business from 2014 to 2016. Before joining Philips, they co-founded and co-directed Cell Resource Core from 2010 to 2014. Maria-Louisa was also a Consultant at Biotech during the same period. Additionally, they served as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School from 2010 to 2011 and worked as a Scientist at The Center for Engineering in Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital from 2003 to 2010.

Maria-Louisa Izamis earned their PhD in Medical and Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2006, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering in 2002, both from the same institution.
