George Delis

George Delis has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. George has worked as a Data Science Lead at Beazley since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Data Science at Ofgem from 2022 to 2023, where they led a team in automating processes and using machine learning models for decision-making.

From 2015 to 2022, George worked at Lloyd's in multiple roles, including Senior Data Scientist, Data Scientist, Data Product Developer, and Analytics Specialist. In these positions, they built machine learning models, developed sentiment analysis solutions, built interactive data products, and led the data and analytics function.

Before joining Lloyd's, George worked as a Financial Analyst at Compupress S.A. from 2010 to 2013, where they managed budgeting and financial analysis. George also gained experience as a Junior Project Manager at B.O.F. Hellas S.A. in 2009, focusing on research, business planning, and client communication.

George began their professional career in 2008, serving in the Greek Army as a Corporal. In this role, they led and supervised a team, acquired leadership skills, and learned effective communication and resource management.

In 2008, George worked briefly as an Underwriting Assistant at INTERAMERICAN, where they collaborated with the senior management team and communicated the company's policies to insurance agents. Prior to that, they worked as a Marine Department Clerk at INTERAMERICAN in 2006.

George Delis has a diverse educational background. In 2003-2007, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Maritime Studies from the University of Piraeus. Following this, in 2013-2014, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics at The University of Edinburgh. In 2017, George attended the University of Oxford for a Summer School program focused on International Politics. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications from institutions such as Microsoft and DataRobot Inc.
