Hong Zhu

Hong Zhu serves as an Associate Director in R&D at BD, responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team focused on advancing medication preparation, safety, and administration. With a strong background in engineering and leadership, Hong has spearheaded the development of the Intelliport system, the first solution to enable real-time drug identification and dose measurement at the point of injection. Prior experience includes roles at Baxter Healthcare as Sr. Principal Lead Engineer and Principal Lead Engineer, contributing to large volume infusion pump launches and clinical trials. Additionally, Hong's career began at Seagate Technology, leading design initiatives for hard disk drive systems. Hong holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
