David Kleeman's work experience spans over two decades in various companies.
David began their career as a Mechanical Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where they researched, planned, and designed mechanical components and subsystems for commercial and national defense satellites. One of their notable achievements was being part of the engineering team that successfully completed and launched LMI-1, the first telecommunications satellite conceived as a joint venture between the United States and Russia.
After their time at Lockheed Martin, David worked as a Product Designer at Patria Design, where they conceptualized and designed a variety of plastic and sheet metal consumer products for notable clients such as Palm, Inc.
David then took on freelance work as a Mechanical Engineer at RKS Technology, where they performed 3-D modeling and conceptualized solutions for various projects.
David later joined Thales Navigation as a Project Manager, where they conceptualized and designed Magellan-branded consumer GPS products for the handheld and car-navigation markets. David managed overseas OEM/ODM design teams, vendors, and tooling manufacturers in the implementation and production of designs.
In 2004, David transitioned to the consumer electronics industry and joined Belkin. David held various roles, including Senior Director of Mechanical Engineering, Director of Mechanical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Manager. In these roles, they led teams of mechanical engineers, set the direction for design and development, defined departmental standards and processes, and managed budgets.
Throughout their career, David has been involved in the entire product design cycle, from conceptualization to mass production, and has worked on a wide range of consumer electronic products across different categories.
