Michael Friel

Michael Friel is an experienced design professional currently serving as the Head of Design at Bell Building Projects Ltd since July 2021. Prior to this role, Friel was a Design Manager at Ogilvie Construction Ltd and Carillion, where responsibilities included design management and statutory compliance for various residential and defense projects. Notable projects include the £33m Affinity Living apartment building in Manchester and the £31m Military Accommodation for HMNB Clyde. Friel's architectural career began in 1997, encompassing roles in multiple firms with significant contributions to various public and private sector projects. Friel holds an RIBA Part III qualification as well as degrees in Architectural Design and Architectural Studies from the University of Strathclyde, complemented by an ERASMUS exchange program in Interior Design at Technische Universität Wien.
