Shawn McClung began their work experience in 2003 as a Testing and Deployment Lead at Bellatrix Systems, Inc. Shawn later became the Quality Assurance Manager, responsible for inspecting and testing the company's manufactured devices. Shawn also provided machining services when necessary. In 2007, Shawn joined Guardsmark as a Security Officer and worked there until 2010.

Shawn McClung has a diverse education history in the field of information technology and computer software engineering. Shawn started their education at the University of Phoenix in 2011, where they pursued an associate's degree in information technology, which lasted until 2013.

In 2013, Shawn transferred to Western Governors University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in information technology software in 2015. During their time at Western Governors University, they also earned several additional certifications in various IT-related fields.

In 2012, Shawn attended Team Treehouse, where they pursued a program in computer software engineering until 2016. Although they did not receive a specific degree from this institution, it provided him with valuable knowledge and skills in the field.

Shawn completed courses such as "Everything You Need to Know about Subnetting," "Foundations of Networking: Network Media (LANs)," "IT Security Fundamentals," "Network Troubleshooting," "Project Management Simplified," and "Foundations of Programming: Object-Oriented Design."
