Arathy Surendran

Arathy Surendran has over 8 years of work experience in the supply chain and production field. In 2020, they began working as a Production Lead at Bellroy, where they were responsible for KPI implementation and process development, determining priorities of purchase orders, securing supply of critical raw materials, and releasing around 300 new SKUs in 2022. Arathy also improved the efficiency of inbound shipments processing and invoice processing, established a process to correct purchase order value errors, and trained remote assistants in the ERP system.

From 2018-2020, Arathy worked as a Supply Chain Specialist at Le Pain Quotidien, where they optimized imports ordering process, provided seasonal demand forecasts, identified and selected logistics partners, facilitated FOB origin logistics, planned distribution of imported ambient goods, negotiated contracts with regional distributors, identified potential suppliers, and developed strategies and trained regional buyers to mitigate purchasing related risks.

In 2017, they worked as a Supply Chain Analyst and Supply Chain Management and Logistics Intern at Sogo Industries. As a Supply Chain Analyst, they improved purchase and production planning by forecasting demands for in-house and imported products, and realized a 25% improvement in perfect order fulfilment rate. As a Supply Chain Management and Logistics Intern, they managed inventory related duties and developed pricing rules for customers.

In 2012, Arathy had an internship at Kerala State Electricity Board Substation (220 Kv).

Arathy Surendran has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. Arathy then went on to pursue a Master's in Industrial Engineering from the University of Houston from 2016 to 2017. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Global Procurement and Sourcing by Rutgers the State University of New Jersey from Coursera in 2021, Excel Skills for Business: Advanced from Coursera in 2020, Data Analytics for Lean Six Sigma from Coursera in 2018, Mastering Data Analysis in Excel from Coursera in 2018, Business Metrics for Data-Driven Companies from Coursera in 2017, Rigging and Material Handling safety from OSHA in 2016, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the Management and Strategy Institute.
