Joseph Oberholtzer

Joseph Oberholtzer has a varied work experience, beginning in 2008 as a Snowboard Instructor Intern at Vail Resorts. In 2009, they worked as a Construction Laborer for Imperial Investment Group. In 2011, they worked as a Range Technician for Jacob's Technology. In 2012, they worked as a Student Nuclear Engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and a CH-47 Delivery Center (Flight Test) Engineering Intern at Boeing. In 2013, they began working at Masten Space Systems as a Rocket Controls and Instrumentation Engineer, where they were responsible for flight code, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, flight readiness reviews, safe vehicle operation, and post-flight analysis, as well as instrumentation and control lead for engine test stands. In 2017, they began working at Kitty Hawk as a Propulsion Test Engineering Manager. In 2022, they began working at Benchmark Space Systems as a GNC Engineer.

Joseph Oberholtzer obtained their B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University between 2009 and 2013. Joseph also holds certifications from NAUI Worldwide as an Advanced Scuba Diver (obtained in April 2017), Dassault Systèmes as a Certified Solidworks Associate (obtained in June 2012), Divers Alert Network as an Oxygen First Aid (obtained in January 2017), American Red Cross as a First Aid (obtained in January 2017), U.S. Parachute Association (USPA) for a Skydive license (obtained in December 2015), PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors for a Snowboard Instructor (obtained in December 2009), and the Federal Aviation Administration for an Aircraft Flight Instructor (no date provided).
