Lead System Engineer at Benchmark Space Systems

Obdulio Ochoa has a long history of experience in the engineering field. Obdulio began their career in 2009 with the Early Academic Outreach Program as a Student Outreach Assistant. In 2012, they were a Student Research Assistant at UC Davis. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Systems Engineering Intern and Software Engineering Intern at Lockheed Martin. In 2014, they became a M.S. Student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Obdulio then returned to Lockheed Martin in 2015 as a Systems Engineer - GNC, Propulsion, Structures Technical Analyst. In 2016, they were promoted to Lead System Engineer and Systems Engineer - GNC, Propulsion, Structures Technical Lead. In 2020, they joined Benchmark Space Systems as a Lead System Engineer. Throughout their career, Obdulio has been responsible for concept of operations (CONOPs) and timeline development, customer relationship development and technical solutions, interdisciplinary team leadership, command script development, and system tests. Obdulio has also conceptualized, developed, and delivered tools to reduce program overhead costs and increase efficiency.

Obdulio Ochoa received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from the University of California, Davis in 2014, with a major in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and a minor in Mechanical Engineering. Obdulio then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which they completed in 2016.
