Ben Santos, Dr. Eng.

Ben Santos, Dr. Eng., has extensive work experience in the field of business development, innovation, and marketing in the chemical and electronics industries. Ben currently holds the position of Director, Innovation & New Business Development at Nitto Bend Technologies since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Nitto Inc. as a New Business Development Manager starting from October 2019. Ben also worked at Nitto Denko as a Global Account Manager & Product Manager from 2007 onwards. Additionally, Ben held the position of Senior Manager, Innovation & Business Development at Nitto Denko Corporation from June 2022 to January 2023. Before joining Nitto Denko, they worked at Cookson Electronics as the Director of Marketing in 2006 and at Henkel Corp. in various roles including Global Product Manager, General Manager, and Sr Technical Service Engineer from 1997 to 2006.

Ben Santos, Dr. Eng. has a diverse education history that spans multiple institutions and fields of study.

In 1988, they received a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Fellowship in Plant Cell Biotechnology from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Ben continued their education at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, earning a Master of Engineering degree in Bioengineering from 1989 to 1992.

Ben Santos then pursued their Doctor of Engineering degree in Biotechnology from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, completing it from 1992 to 1995.

In 2002, they attended the Center for Creative Leadership and completed the Leadership Development Program. Later that year, they also enrolled at the MIT Sloan School of Management and earned a degree in Managing Complex Product Development Projects.

In 2004, Ben Santos returned to the MIT Sloan School of Management to pursue another degree, this time in Developing and Managing a Successful Technology and Product Strategy.

More recently, they have undertaken several programs focused on design thinking and AI at the MIT Sloan School of Management. These include Designing and Building AI Products and Services and Data Monetization Strategies.

Ben'smost recent educational endeavor is at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where they are currently pursuing a degree in Design Thinking: From Insights to Viability, expected to be completed in 2022.
