Hugh Murtagh

Hugh Murtagh is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as the Engineering Group Manager at Beon Energy Solutions since November 2017. Murtagh previously held the position of Solar PV Asset Manager at Bluefield Services Ltd, overseeing the management of approximately 12 operational Solar PV parks and handling various responsibilities including generation optimization and stakeholder management. As an Electrical Design Manager at British Solar Renewables, Murtagh contributed to the development of over 250MWp of PV plants through expertise in electrical system design and compliance. Starting a career at Energy Matters, Murtagh played a key role in transforming the business into a respected name in the industry. Early roles included Install Coordinator at Rainbow Power Company, where Murtagh gained foundational project management skills while pursuing renewable energy education. Murtagh holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and an Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering from RMIT University, along with a Diploma in Renewable Energy Technology from TAFE Queensland.
