Karel Janse van Rensburg

Karel Janse van Rensburg is an experienced aviation professional and entrepreneur with a diverse background in the airline industry and technology sectors. Currently serving as an Airline Captain at Beond since February 2024, Karel previously held the position of A320 Captain at Global Airways until February 2024. With a foundational career starting in the South African Air Force, Karel also worked as a Senior First Officer at Comair/British Airways SA and was an Airline Captain at South African Airways, where responsibilities included ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft. In addition to aviation roles, Karel is a founder member of Open V Telecoms, specializing in VoIP business applications, and has contributed to the South African Airways Pilots Association in project management and software consultation. Educational qualifications include a B.Mil in Computer Science from Stellenbosch University.
