Morgan NeSmith has a longstanding career in the field of geotechnical engineering. They began their career as a Student Engineer at BHATE Geosciences in 1989 and stayed until 1992. After that, they worked as a Staff Engineer at Piedmont Geotechnical Consultants, LLC for a short period in 1995. In 1997, they joined Fugro-Suhaimi Ltd. as a Senior Engineer and remained there until 1998. They then moved on to Fugro, where they held the positions of Geotechnical Engineer from 1999 to 2001 and Senior Geotechnical Engineer from 2002 to 2003. Since 2004, NeSmith has been with Berkel & Company Contractors, Inc., starting as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and eventually taking on the roles of Chief Geotechnical Engineer and Director of Engineering.
Morgan NeSmith obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1995. Following this, Morgan pursued further education at Georgia Institute of Technology and completed a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering between 1995 and 1997.
