Iris Kwok

Iris Kwok is an accomplished environment reporter at Berkeleyside, where responsibilities include covering environmental issues and co-launching The Scene, a successful arts and culture newsletter. As a Report for America corps member, Iris focuses on environmental reporting in Berkeley, while also mentoring student journalists. Previous experience includes roles at Celli@Berkeley as Co-Director and Communications Officer, where Iris facilitated transitions between virtual and in-person formats and managed client communications. Additional positions include Deputy News Editor and News Reporter at The Daily Californian, where accolades include first place for Best COVID-19 Coverage. Other notable experiences encompass internships and fellowships, including contributing to a podcast for the Asian American Journalists Association and writing for the San Francisco Examiner. Iris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Music from the University of California, Berkeley, complemented by pre-college training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Boston University's Tanglewood Institute.
