Nathalie Jane Vielle

Nathalie Jane Vielle is a Staff Scientist in the Virology Department at Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine since May 2020, focusing on laboratory support and capacity building for the ENABLE Lassa fever research program across West Africa. Nathalie has also contributed to various emergency response efforts, including deployments for Ebola and COVID-19 diagnostics in Guinea, Greece, and Tajikistan under WHO/GOARN. Previously, Nathalie served as a Laboratory Expert for the World Health Organization and conducted PhD research on flavivirus interactions at the University of Bern. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, as well as several advanced certificates in Public Health, complemented by a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences.
