Yaiza Fernández-García

Yaiza Fernández-García is a Postdoctoral Scientist at Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine since August 2016. Prior to this role, Yaiza completed a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology and an MSc in Biochemistry and Bioinformatics at Universidad de Concepción between 2009 and 2016. During this time, Yaiza also undertook a Research PhD Internship at Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine from March 2014 to December 2015. Earlier research experience includes a position as a researcher at Centro de Ingeniería Genética y Biotecnología from September 2003 to December 2005, and foundational education was received at the University of Havana, where Yaiza earned a BSc in Biology from 1998 to 2003.
