Katie Southerland

Katie Southerland is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in copywriting, editing, and education. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Copywriting and Production at Best Friends Animal Society since January 2014, Katie has developed a strong background in content creation and management. Prior roles include Managing Editor and Senior Staff Writer at LEAD Magazine from August 2012 to February 2014, where responsibilities included conducting research, interviewing leaders, and managing editorial processes. Katie has also worked as a private tutor, assisting students from grades 1-12 in reading and writing, and served as an Adjunct English Instructor at Beckfield College. Earlier in their career, Katie owned and operated Dog's Day Grooming, overseeing various business functions and staff training. Katie holds a Master's degree in English and a Bachelor of Arts in English, both from Northern Kentucky University.
