Emily Schab

Emily Schab (Van Peursem) has a diverse work experience in the social services field. Emily began their career in 2009 as a Families First Intern at Catholic Charities. In 2012, they joined Bethany Christian Services as a Refugee Foster Care Case Manager and later became a Refugee Foster Care Supervisor. In 2014, they transitioned to the role of Quality Assurance Manager - Social Worker and held this position until 2017. Emily then took on the role of Director of Child Welfare Services at Bethany Christian Services until 2021. Since February 2021, they have been serving as the Regional Vice President of Operations at Bethany Christian Services. Emily also had a brief role as an Outpatient Clinical Intern at Family Outreach Center in 2012.

Emily Schab (Van Peursem) completed their education with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University in the years 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Spanish from Calvin University between 2005 and 2009. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Calvin University.
