John E. Jett, PhD

Vice President, Head Of Research & Clinical Development at Beyond Air

John E. Jett, PhD has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

From 2023, they have been working at Beyond Air® as the Vice President Clinical Development & Clinical Pharmacology.

Prior to that, from 2017 to 2022, they worked at Dermavant Sciences as the Director of Clinical Development. In this role, they led a multinational Phase 3 program in Atopic Dermatitis and also managed the clinical pharmacology activities of multiple other preclinical- and clinical-stage assets.

From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Clinical Development Scientist at Viamet Pharmaceuticals. Here, they directed two programs and oversaw the Phase 1 strategy for two late-phase clinical programs. John E. also supported business development activities through the successful out-license of Viamet's lead asset.

Before that, from 2011 to 2015, they held various positions at Targacept, Inc. as a Program Leader / Senior Scientist, where they managed clinical stage programs and oversaw translational medicine activities in CNS and GU therapeutic areas.

Dr. Jett began their career as a Graduate Fellow at West Virginia University from 2004 to 2011, where they conducted research on variations in drug metabolism. Prior to that, they had an Undergraduate Fellowship at American Research Corporation of Virginia in 2003.

Lastly, in 2001, they worked as a Quality Control Microbiology Technician at Cargill.

John E. Jett, PhD holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from West Virginia University. Prior to that, they obtained a B.S. in Biology from Radford University. Additionally, they have received certifications in "Becoming an Impactful and Influential Leader" from LinkedIn, "AB Sciex QTRAP 5500 System Training for Quantitative and Qualitative Workflows" from AB Sciex, "ADME, PK/TK, and Drug Metabolism in Drug Discovery and Development" from The Center for Professional Innovation and Education, and "Drug Development and Discovery by FDA Standards" from AAPS.
