Finn O'Muircheartaigh has a diverse and extensive work experience. Finn is currently employed at BeZero Carbon as the Director of Policy & Markets. Prior to this role, they worked at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from 2016 to 2022, where they held various positions including Deputy Director of the Vaccine Taskforce, Head of Business Intelligence & Head of Prime Minister Economy Team, Head of Business Investment and Growth, and Assistant Director of Industrial Strategy.
Before joining BEIS, Finn worked at the Department of Energy and Climate Change from 2013 to 2016, serving as a Senior Policy Advisor & Private Secretary to the Climate Change Minister and as a Policy Advisor. Finn also had experience in the Irish Parliament, where they worked as a Consultant to the Committee on the Environment, Transport, Culture and the Gaeltacht in 2012, and as a Consultant to the Committee on Tourism, Culture, Community and Gaeltacht Affairs in 2010.
In addition to their government and policy roles, Finn has also contributed to academia as a Guest Lecturer at City, University of London for the MSc Energy and Environmental Technology & Economics program since 2016. Overall, Finn O'Muircheartaigh brings a wealth of experience and expertise in policy, energy, climate change, and business intelligence to their current role at BeZero Carbon.
Finn O'Muircheartaigh pursued their education at the University College Dublin from 2005 to 2009. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Politics and Modern Irish. Later, in 2011, Finn attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Environmental Policy and Regulation in 2012.
