Matthieu Sturzenegger is a Senior Engineering Geologist at BGC Engineering Inc. since December 2016, previously serving as an Engineering Geologist at Klohn Crippen Berger from January 2011 to October 2016, where responsibilities included technical coordination of open pit design projects, rockslide investigation, hazard assessment, field mapping, terrestrial photogrammetry, and laser scanning. Matthieu was also a researcher and lecturer at Simon Fraser University from 2009 to 2010, focusing on large prehistorical rockslide investigations, geomorphological characterization, geomechanical analysis, modeling, and cosmogenic dating, while teaching a geohazard course. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering Geology from Simon Fraser University, and both a Master of Science (MSc) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Structural Geology and Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Geneva.
