Julie Matthews has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Julie started their career as an Auditor Trainee at Price Waterhouse in 1990. Julie then moved on to work as a Financial Analyst and later as a Marketing/HR professional at Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls from 1991 to 1998. Julie continued their career at BLJC as a Marketing/Proposal Manager from 1999 to 2006.

Julie then worked as a Business Dev/Proposal Manager at Direct Energy Consulting in 2006 and later took on the role of Operations/Environmental Consultant from 2007 to 2008. Julie joined e3 Solutions Inc. in 2008 as a Director of Carbon Advisory Services and later became the Vice President of Carbon Solutions from 2010 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2014, Julie worked as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Brookfield Johnson Controls, where they were responsible for developing and implementing brand and sales strategies. Julie then transitioned to the role of Director of Programs from 2014 to 2015, where they focused on developing internal operational programs and leading communication efforts during the transition of the Government Canada Contract.

In 2015, Julie joined BGIS as the Director of Tenant Communications, where they led the development and implementation of the Tenant Relationship Management and Communications framework. Julie worked closely with regional leads across Canada to devise and execute communication strategies for Federal Tenant departments.

In addition to their corporate positions, Julie has also contributed as a volunteer. Julie served as the Communications Sub Committee Lead for the Race to Reduce initiative from 2013 to 2015. Julie also volunteered as a member of the Green Business Management - Seneca Program Advisory Committee from 2017 to 2020. In this role, they provided guidance on program development and quality assurance.

Julie Matthews graduated from Ryerson University in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in Business. Prior to attending university, they attended Branksome Hall from 1984 to 1986. Their early education was completed at St Josephs Convent between 1979 and 1984.
