Barak Ben-Avinoam

Barak manages BGV’s operations in Israel & Europe and is responsible for identifying and mentoring the relevant companies in BGV’s portfolio.

Prior to BGV Barak held various management positions at several investment firms in Russia, France and in leading Israeli Incubators. At this capacity Barak led dozens of investment transactions and worked closely with CEO’s of early-stage companies.

Before his tenure as an investor Barak was a co-Founder and held C-level positions at several Israeli technology start-up companies, including CEO of Flash Networks, GM of European Operations at Business Layers, and CEO of Prolify.

Barak is also an Investment Committee Member at the Israel Innovation Authority, and an Advisory Board Member, mentor and a panelist at several international acceleration programs, including at the Technion’s BizTEC Program, IBM AlphaZone Accelerator, Samsung’s Runway Acceleration Program, and others.

In addition, Barak teaches MBA-level seminars in Entrepreneurship at leading universities, including at NYU, the Technion, and Tel-Aviv University in Israel, ENPC in France, GIST in Korea and Tsinghua University in China.

Barak holds an MBA and a Doctorate of Business Administration, with honors, from the International School of Management, Paris, France and a B.Sc. in Information Systems, with honors, from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
