Amel Kovačević

Amel Kovačević has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Amel is currently serving as the Acting Chief Executive Officer at BH Telecom since October 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina from January 2023 to October 2023. Amel also served as the Chief Executive Officer at United Bank Of Albania from September 2020 to November 2022, where they undertook a comprehensive transformation of the bank.

Amel has also held the position of Minister of Finance at Vlada Kantona Sarajevo from December 2018 to March 2020, where they oversaw the responsible and effective spending of government resources. Before that, Amel worked as the Head of Retail Banking at Bosna Bank International dd Sarajevo from July 2014 to December 2018, where they demonstrated their ability to lead large teams and manage complex environments.

In addition, they have experience as a Freelancer and served as the Ambassador to the People's Republic of China and Mongolia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina from January 2010 to January 2013, where they elevated bilateral cooperation and promoted investments from China.

Amel has also worked as a Lecturer at the International University of Sarajevo and as the General Manager at BAMCARD, where they successfully implemented turnaround management strategies. Amel also worked as a Visiting Lecturer at The Noel Baker Center for Business and Management Studies. Overall, Amel Kovačević has a diverse and successful background in various leadership and managerial positions.

Amel Kovačević completed a Bachelor of Economics in International Economics from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1996. From 1997 to 2000, Amel pursued a Master of Economics degree with a focus on Finance and Economics from the same university.
