Chris Okeke

Chris Okeke, MIEAust, is an accomplished mechanical engineer with extensive experience in various sectors, including mining and resource management. Currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at BHP since October 2022, Chris is involved with the Total Equipment Strategy (TES) Project, focusing on rail workshop fixed plant assets and automated guidance vehicles. Previous roles include Senior Reliability Engineer positions at both Alcoa and Fortescue Metals Group, and experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer at Coronado Global Resources, where Chris managed project work alongside maintenance tasks. With a background in maintenance engineering at Rio Tinto and reliability specialization at Roy Hill, Chris also possesses hands-on operational experience from early career roles, including underground service work. Chris holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and a Graduate Diploma in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Curtin University.
