Craig Lockhart is an experienced professional in environmental science and mine closure planning, currently serving as Manager Closure Planning and Principal Closure Planning at BHP since December 2017. Previously, Lockhart held various senior roles at Peabody Energy, including Senior Manager Environment and Closure, where responsibilities involved project support for closed sites and leading multi-disciplinary mine closure steering committees. Additional experience includes positions as Principal Environmental Scientist at Sibelco Australia & New Zealand, Environmental Scientist at Consolidated Rutile Limited, and Research Officer at both The University of Queensland and Griffith University. Lockhart holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Griffith University and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Community Relations from The University of Queensland, alongside a Diploma of Management from the Australian Institute of Management Queensland.
