Mark Woods has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Mark started their career in 1987 as a Minister at Downend Baptist Church, where they gained valuable experience in youth work, Baptist Association issues, and student chaplaincy. In 1996, they moved to Alvechurch Baptist Church, where they served as a Minister and hospital chaplain. During their time there, the church experienced significant growth and developed creatively. In 2003, Mark joined The Baptist Times as News Editor before becoming the Editor from 2004 to 2012. Although the latter years were challenging as the newspaper struggled to survive, Mark's contribution was significant. From 2010 to 2019, Mark worked for Challenge as an Editor, and from 2012 to 2019, they held the role of Consulting Editor at The Methodist Recorder. In 2019, they became the Head of Communications at Bible Society, where they currently hold the role.
Mark Woods attended the University of Bristol from 1978 to 1981, where they obtained a degree in Theology. Mark then continued their education at the same university from 1981 to 1986 and obtained a Master of Literature degree, specializing in Literature.
