Shady Masarweh has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Shady began their career at Belgacom in 1995, working as a Research and Development Engineer until 2000. Shady then took on the role of Program Manager until 2002. In 2002, Shady joined Belgacom again as the Manager of the Technical Account Team in International Wholesale, a position they held until 2007.
In 2007, Shady joined BICS as a Senior Business Development Manager for International Carrier Services. Shady worked in this role until 2011 when they were promoted to Head of Capacity Business Management. In this position, Shady led a team responsible for strategy, business development, product management, and strategic investments in the Capacity Business Unit at BICS. Shady specialized in products such as Carrier Ethernet, 10G wavelengths over DWDM, SDH, IPLC, and IP Transit, and technologies including DWDM, submarine cables, and satellite connectivity.
In 2019, Shady was promoted to Vice President of Sales Operations at BICS and held this role until 2022. Shady is currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at BICS as of November 2022, utilizing their extensive experience to foster valuable partnerships for the company.
Shady Masarweh completed their undergraduate education at the Université catholique de Louvain, where they obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1989. Shady then pursued further studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst from 1989 to 1991, specializing in Microwaves within the field of Electrical Engineering and earning a MSc EEng degree. In 2015, Shady attended the Vlerick Business School for the Service Strategy and Innovation Programme, though no specific field of study was mentioned.
