Basant Kumar Pandey

Basant Kumar Pandey has a strong background in data science and engineering. Basant Kumar started their career at TCS INNOVATION Labs in 2010, where they worked as a Researcher in the areas of Virtual Reality and Computer Vision. During this time, they focused on projects such as real-time human avatar model tracking and the implementation of wake-up and sleep mode on a client and server-based system.

In 2012, Basant joined Samsung Research (SAIT INDIA) as a Lead Engineer. In this role, they specialized in computer vision and machine learning, specifically in the detection, tracking, and analysis of fiducial points on the face.

After two years at Samsung, Basant transitioned to Samsung Research India - Bangalore in 2014, where they served as a Technical Lead. Basant Kumar worked in this position until 2015, before moving on to their next opportunity.

Basant joined Bidgely in 2015 as a Data Scientist and gradually advanced within the company. Basant Kumar first served as a Senior Data Scientist from January 2017 to September 2018. Basant Kumar then took on the role of Lead Data Scientist/Manager from September 2018 to September 2020, before finally being promoted to Director of Data Science in September 2020, where they currently work.

Basant Kumar Pandey obtained their Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in ECE & Wireless Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Basant Kumar studied at the institute from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, in June 2014, they obtained a certification in "Fundamentals of Digital Image and Video Processing" from Coursera. In May 2014, they also obtained a certification in "An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python" from Coursera.
