Michiel Haasbroek's work experience includes roles in various companies and organizations. In 2006, they had an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2007, they worked as a Securities Analyst on a project basis at FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank. Michiel then joined ABN AMRO as a Specialist ORM Transaction Banking, where they provided risk assessments and mitigated risk for retail and corporate clients. Michiel later became an Operational Risk Manager in Global Markets at ABN AMRO. In 2009, they joined Fortis Bank as an Operational Risk Manager, providing risk assessments at an operational and strategic level for markets-related activities. In 2020, they worked as a Visiting Academic Research Fellow at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) gGmbH. Currently, they are the Chief Finance and Risk Officer at BIL Suisse, a role they have held since September 2022, and previously served as the Chief Risk Officer.
