Austin Lan

Austin Lan is the current Head of Design at Binti. Prior to this, they were a Product Lead at GearLaunch and a Senior Product Manager at Next Insurance.

Lan has extensive experience in leading cross-company projects and product teams for complex B2B2C products. At GearLaunch, they led a product team of 5 and successfully launched user-validated features. Austin also managed a suite of products across the platform and increased revenue by 7% annually.

At Next Insurance, Lan was responsible for leading the launch of a product to meet the needs of a rapidly growing user base. Austin designed, built, and launched the portal leading a small offshore team; drove 96% of users through the web channel and lightened the load on agents. Austin also identified and solved pain points in operational tools and workflows; cut ticket handling time by 54%.

Lan’s experience in both product management and design makes him uniquely qualified to lead Binti’s design team. Under their guidance, the team is sure to continue to create innovative and user-friendly products.

Austin Lan completed a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Art from Yale University. Austin then went on to earn a certification from the Scrum Alliance in Certified Scrum Product Owner.
