Callum MacGregor

Research Team Lead at BioAscent

Callum MacGregor has a wealth of experience in the field of chemistry. Callum began their career in 2006 as a student at the University of St Andrews. In 2009, they took a placement student role at GlaxoSmithKline. Callum then pursued a PhD at the University of Cambridge from 2011 to 2015, where they worked on a project to use computational techniques and synthetic chemistry to elucidate the structure of a complex polyketide natural product. In 2015, they joined Evotec as a Senior Scientist. From 2016 to 2019, they held the role of Senior Scientific Officer at Cancer Research UK, where they were involved in the design, synthesis, and characterisation of novel molecules for screening against biological targets of interest. In 2019, they joined Amphista Therapeutics Limited as a Medicinal Chemist. Callum currently holds the roles of Research Team Lead and Senior Scientist - Chemistry at BioAscent.

Callum MacGregor attended Perth Academy from 2000 to 2006. Callum then went on to the University of St Andrews, where they earned an MChem in Chemistry from 2006 to 2011. Finally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry at the University of Cambridge from 2011 to 2015.
