Leah Hartman has a diverse work history, beginning with their role as a Produce Buyer at City Feed & Supply in 2012. Leah then moved on to become a Retail Associate at Annie's Annuals & Perennials in 2015, followed by an Administrative Assistant at the Employment Services Program at the Center for Positive Change in 2016. In the same year, they also worked as a Barista & Production Assistant at Highwire Coffee Roasters. In 2017, they were a Training Specialist for Operations at the Fred Finch Youth Center. Most recently, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis from 2018 to 2022, where they explored changes to the soil microbiome under an almond hull and shell amendment, synthesized findings for conferences and publications, supervised two direct reports, and conducted training. Leah is currently employed as a Research Associate in Microbiology at BioConsortia, Inc.
Leah Hartman began their education in 2004 when they graduated from Castro Valley High School with a High School Diploma. Leah then attended Brandeis University from 2008 to 2012, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. In 2011, Leah took a semester abroad at the University of Jordan, studying Arabic Language and Theirtory of the Modern Middle East. Currently, Leah is attending the University of California, Davis, where they are pursuing a Master of Science in Soils and Biogeochemistry, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
