Lauren R. Powell

Lauren R. Powell, MPA, PhD, serves as the Head of Health Equity at Biogen, leading initiatives to integrate health equity into drug development. Additionally, Lauren holds the position of Clinical Advisor for Health Equity at Sword Health and is a board member for Power to Decide and Health Brigade. As President and CEO of The Equitist, LLC, Lauren drives efforts to promote anti-racism and health equity within public health systems. Previously, Lauren was Vice President of US Health Equity & Community Wellness at Takeda, directing community wellness investments in under-resourced areas. Lauren's accolades include participation as a Fellow at the Aspen Institute and Herndon Directors Institute. With advanced degrees from Harvard Kennedy School and UMass Chan Medical School, Lauren's academic focus includes management, leadership, and racial health disparities.
