Nicolas Schrantz

Nicolas Schrantz has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development, particularly in the development of antibodies and bioconjugation.

Most recently, they served as the Head of Research and Development Adm. Cell Analysis at BioLegend, starting in 2021.

Prior to that, from 2019 to 2021, they were the Senior Director of Product Development at NEUVOGEN, Inc.

Their longest tenure was at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where they held multiple roles. From 2017 to 2019, they were the Senior Manager of New Antibody Development, leading a team of 14 associates and PhD scientists in developing new antibody products for immunology research. From 2016 to 2017, they served as the Director of Cell Science and Bioconjugation, where they supervised two teams responsible for monoclonal antibody development and the production of fluorescently labelled antibodies.

Before joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, Schrantz worked at eBioscience from 2008 to 2016, where they served as the Director of Cell Science and Bioconjugation. In this role, they oversaw the development of monoclonal antibodies and the production of fluorescently labelled antibodies. Prior to that, they were an Associate Director and a Project Leader in the same company.

To begin their career, Schrantz worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Scripps Research from 2000 to 2008. During this time, they conducted research on lipid transfer protein and its role in lipid uptake and presentation to the immune system. Nicolas also studied the immunological phenotype of Niemann-Pick type C2 disease in a mouse model. Additionally, they led collaborative projects and demonstrated effective independent research skills.

Nicolas Schrantz has a degree in Biochimie, specifically a Maitrise, from Pierre and Marie Curie University. Nicolas also holds a Ph.D in Immunology from Université Paris Cité.
