Vivian Qu

Venture Advisor, Product Branding at BioLumen

Vivian Qu's work experience began in 2015 as a Research Project Lead at the University of California, Berkeley, where they focused on nanofiltration synthesis and scaling. Vivian then joined IndieBio as part of Cohort #4 Biotech Accelerator in 2016. In the same year, they also founded ViaeX Technologies Inc., a startup that aimed to deliver sustainable materials. Vivian served as CEO and Founder until December 2021 when the company was acquired.

Qu then worked as an AI Application Consultant at NYSE from November 2017 to March 2018. From 2018 to 2022, they were a Biotechnology Domain Expert/Venture Scout at Pascal Capital, where they provided expertise and scouted for potential investments in various biotech companies.

Starting in January 2022, Qu became a part of On Deck, taking on roles such as On Deck Longevity Biotech, On Deck Angel, and ODF12 until March 2023. Vivian also joined Altay Therapeutics as an Investor from May 2022.

In December 2021, Qu became the Chief Product Officer at Tidal Vision through acquisition. Vivian was responsible for org development, analytical chemistry process and technique development, and establishing research partnerships.

In December 2022, they joined SOSV as a Venture Fellow, scouting investment opportunities for their IndieBio SF's World Class Accelerator.

Most recently, in April 2023, Qu started working at BioLumen Inc. as a Venture Advisor and Interim CMO/Product Launch.

Vivian Qu holds a Master's degree in Material Science Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2018 to 2019, they attended Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where they completed the Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme. Additionally, they have a Bachelor's degree in Nanotechnology Engineering with a focus on Biology and Material Science, along with a Minor in Humanities from UC San Diego.
