John Maga

John Maga is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in analytical and process sciences within the biopharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as Executive Director of Analytical Sciences at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. since January 2011, John is responsible for the development and application of analytical methods for the company's diverse pipeline, including gene therapies and recombinant proteins. Previously, John held roles as Executive Director of Process Sciences and Senior Director, focusing on purification process development and biophysical characterization. John began their career as a Senior Scientist at ZyStor Therapeutics and as a Scientist at Symbiontics. Educationally, John holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Purdue University, an MFA in Music Performance from Boston University, a BS in Chemistry, and a BA in Music Performance from the University of Northern Colorado.
