Beatriz García Jiménez

Beatriz García Jiménez has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and genomics. Beatriz is currently employed at Biome Makers Inc. as the Head of Data Science, where they oversee data science projects. Prior to this role, they worked as the AI modeling manager at the same company. Before joining Biome Makers Inc., Beatriz served as a Scientific Officer at the company from March 2021 to October 2021.

Additionally, they have held several research positions in different institutions. Beatriz worked as a Student Supervisor and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics (CBGP) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Centre for Biotechnology (CNB-CSIC) from 2017 to 2018. Beatriz also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Biological Research Center (CIB-CSIC) from 2016 to 2017.

Beatriz has also worked at the Center for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics (CBGP) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid as a Postdoctoral Researcher from 2013 to 2016. During their time there, they also served as a Teaching Assistant from 2015 to 2016.

In addition, Beatriz has experience as a Teaching Assistant and a Research Fellow at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid from 2006 to 2013. Beatriz was also a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in 2013, where they worked on a project in the Computational Biology and Applied Algorithmics Department. Beatriz completed their PhD at CNIO, where they worked as a PhD student from 2006 to 2012.

Furthermore, Beatriz has been a Visiting Researcher at the Università degli Studi di Cagliari in 2008 and a Research Introduction Fellow at the Spanish National Center of Biotechnology in 2005.

Beatriz García Jiménez holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science Technical Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, which they completed in 2003. Beatriz further pursued their education at the same university, obtaining a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence in 2005. Beatriz completed their Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2007. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Bioinformatics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2012. In 2014, they obtained a certification in "Gut Check: Exploring Your Microbiome" from Coursera.
