L. Scott Mar

L. Scott Mar, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. L. Scott is currently working as the Executive Director of Quality at Biomea Fusion since April 2022. In this role, they are responsible for managing all GxP audit and compliance programs, providing compliance advice to clinical study teams, and developing the Biomea Quality Management System.

Prior to their current role, Scott served as the Senior Director of R&D Quality Assurance at Summit Therapeutics from October 2021 to April 2022. Here, they led the R&D Quality Assurance group and provided oversight for GCP, GLP, PV, and Computer System Validation activities.

From September 2020 to October 2021, Scott worked as the Director of Clinical Compliance at GRAIL, Inc. Here, they provided Clinical Compliance leadership, oversaw vendor and clinical site audits, and managed the CAPA process for clinical trials.

Scott's extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry includes working as the Associate Director of Clinical Quality Assurance at AbbVie from May 2017 to September 2020. L. Scott managed GCP/GLP audits, hosted regulatory inspections, and provided proactive compliance advice to clinical study teams.

During their tenure at Amgen from 2002 to 2017, Scott held multiple roles including Senior Manager of Clinical Quality Assurance and Senior Manager of Information Systems. In these positions, they managed audit programs, validated analytical instruments and data management systems, and established the analytical instrument systems validation methodology for Amgen's GLP labs.

Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, Scott worked as a Managing Consultant at Deloitte Consulting and Structure Consulting Group, where they implemented eProcurement solutions and defined strategic direction for enterprise projects.

Scott began their career as a Systems Analyst at Southern California Edison, where they investigated the application of emerging technologies and developed training courses for the IT organization.

With their extensive experience in quality assurance, compliance, and information systems, Scott Mar brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their current role at Biomea Fusion.

L. Scott Mar completed their education at USC Marshall School of Business, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 1996. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Information Systems from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona in 1991. In addition, they have obtained certifications such as Dare to Lead Trained from Dare to Lead™ Trained institution in 2019, and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in December 2008.
