Emily Hickey has extensive work experience in the biomedical research and pharmaceutical industries. Emily most recently worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Biomere, where they started in August 2019. Prior to that, they were the R&D Supplier Alliance Management Lead at Shire from April 2017 to August 2019. Emily also worked as an Independent Consultant from September 2016 to August 2019. Emily held a senior leadership position at Charles River Laboratories as the Corporate Senior Vice President, Global Discovery from October 2013 to September 2016. Emily also worked at Merck, where they held the roles of Executive Director of In Vivo Pharmacology Externalization from August 2011 to October 2013 and Senior Director of In Vivo Sciences from December 2000 to September 2011. Emily began their career as a Project Leader at Merial, a Sanofi Company, from June 1999 to December 2000.
Emily Hickey's education history includes a variety of degrees and fields of study. Emily began their higher education at Gar-field High School, where they obtained their high school diploma in 1988. Following this, they attended Virginia Tech from 1988 to 1991 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife, Fish and Wildlands Science and Management. Emily then pursued veterinary medicine at the Va-Md Regional College of Veterinary Medicine from 1991 to 1995, earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Continuing their education, they attended The Ohio State University from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Equine Orthopedics.
