Mahala Burn, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Mahala is currently employed at bioMérieux as the Vice President of Corporate Development. In this role, they are responsible for seeking and enabling cutting-edge technologies to help critical care patients and fight infectious diseases. Mahala leads Americas Corporate Development and oversees strategic investments, corporate partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions. Mahala earned their PhD from Yale University, where they studied the effects of nutrient depletion and insulin signaling on intercellular transport and egg development. During their time at Princeton University, they worked as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biology. Mahala Burn, PhD, received their education at Yale University from 2007 to 2013. Mahala obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) as well as a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) with a focus on Cell Biology. Prior to that, they attended Mary Baldwin University from 2003 to 2007 and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, with minors in Anthropology and Religion.
