Nikolas Gaio has been involved in a variety of roles over the past several years. In 2013, they served as an Intern at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where their main goal was to design and test a System in Package solution for an ECG active electrode module. Nikolas also reviewed papers written by colleagues and organized a mini-symposium during ICHI2013 in Vilamoura, Portugal. In 2014, they were a PhD Candidate at TU Delft, where they worked on Fabrication and characterization of an upside-down CNT MEA. In 2017, they became the Chief Technology Officer and Founder of BI/OND - Versatile Organ-on-Chip Solutions, as well as a Founder of the same company.
Nikolas Gaio has a diverse educational background. Nikolas began their studies in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. In 2010, they completed an exchange project in Information Technology at Tongji University, for which they were awarded a Chinese Bachelor of Science degree in 2013. In 2012, they obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical instrumentation from Delft University of Technology. Additionally, Nikolas has obtained a New HSK 4 certificate in 2012, an ECDL Certificate in 2009, and a TOEFL certificate from ETS.
