Charles Gawad

Charles Gawad is a highly accomplished professional in the field of cancer biology and oncology, currently serving as an Associate Professor at Stanford University and an Investigator at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub since September 2019. As a co-founder and Board Member of BioSkryb, Inc. since February 2019, Charles Gawad has contributed to significant advancements in cancer research. Previously, Charles held positions as an Assistant Member at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and an Instructor at Stanford University. Charles completed a Pediatric Oncology Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles, and gained experience as a Pediatric Resident. Early career work includes cancer research at TGen and a role as a Cloister Scholar at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Charles earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cancer Biology from Stanford University and holds an MD from the University of Arizona, alongside a BS in Chemistry and Microbiology from Arizona State University.
